The left section of the miter saw station is a full 8′ long. The right section is a full 4′ long. The miter saw section in between is about 2” wider than the minimum distance to accommodate my miter saw. With the appropriate height measurement marked I used a couple of pieces of 3/4” ply to create a ledge for the miter saw shelf to rest on. Miter Saw Station Drawer Sheet Breakdown. Just like with part one of the miter station I started by breaking down all the sheet goods to make the drawers. The plans show how to break down each sheet for maximum efficiency and the numbering of each part so you don’t loose track, there are a lot of parts. I used a combination of the miter saw. I wanted to make the dust Miter Saw dust collection as efficient as possible. After trying to use a direct hose from the miter saw port to the miter saw station I found it to be inefficient. I thought the dust collection would better If I directed the suction. I cut a piece of triple wall pvc pipe and applied heat to it with a heat gun. A rock-solid platform and a unique flip-up fence system team up with your miter saw for precise cuts.
A miter saw is a handy tool to have in the shop for cutting stock to length. And with the project you see here, you can turn your saw into a reliable and accurate go-to tool for making repeatable cuts. The saw mounts to a pull-out shelf that locks into position between wall-mounted cabinets. The fences are designed to flip up to create a solid platform for the workpiece. But the best part is when you’re finished, the fences fold back into the cabinet for storage and the saw platform slides back against the wall. What you’re left with is additional worksurface and storage space. And there’s not a shop around that couldn’t use more of those.

I really enjoyed this project, although I will never again use plywood that I had left over from a previous project; I used it for the large bottom piece. It was slightly warped and caused the right side wall of the cabinet to be slightly higher than the left! Had to do a little “adjustment” on the wall height. I also decided to keep my existing Dewalt compound miter saw instead of buying the new Bosch gliding miter saw (although I did make the section holding the saw 2 1/2″ wider to accommodate the Bosch in the future).
